There’s a HUGE chance that will happen. Unfortunately, I can’t give you a specific timetable for it, but… well, let me just say this: there’s a reason the screen’s so small within the browser page ;)

Our early, early games told us that most people were playing when they were in front of a computer for extended periods of time i.e. at work, so we’re doing that for now. But we definitely want the game going every day of the week (another suggestion was to have a special Sat-Sun round or separate Sat-Sun game altogether). Please stay tuned ;)

This is a feature idea we love, but we’re not sure when we’ll integrate it. In the meantime, as redct states in the comment below, you can go the the IRC chat room (irc.chat-solutions.org channel #ringorang) and find out from RingoBot.

We definitely are going to expand user profiles to include more than merely your name, e-mail, and weekly score. More robust stats and, yes, life-time dallions are next on our (very long) checklist relating to players.

Good idea for the weekend game. Ideally, we do want to be on non-stop, that might be a good in-between step ;)

We’re considering our options as to how we can group or tier players, based on any number of variables. That’s certainly one that might work.

We’re working on a big renovation of the site for the next iteration of the game, and this is one of the first features we’ll talk about.

Hmmm. That’s a wrinkle we haven’t considered yet. We’ll play with that internally.

We have a pretty hefty firewall at our offices here, and the alert hasn’t posed any problems for us. We’re double-checking, but the alert is designed to use normal http protocols, so in effect it poses no more issues than a standard web browser would.

Thanks for the suggestions. Keeping the players not at the top (i.e. MOST of the players) interested is a discussion we have almost daily. We have lots in the works to help address the issue.

We’ve definitely been brainstorming various types of prizes we can give away (for speed, accuracy %, etc.). A quick series of Qs is an idea we have liked in the past. We’re hoping to integrate some slick goodies in the near future.

Apologies for that. We like to keep the game interesting by peppering in current events. Since we’re US-based, current events obviously skew more toward us. We’re working on organizing questions into general categories (geography, history, etc.) and even having category and topic-specific quizzes, which should counteract the US-centricity some. Thanks for letting us (and me, specifically, as I edit the Qs) know!

Huge apologies for this. The bug is actually in the updater itself, not the desktop app. We’re tackling it right now, but if you’d like to manually update, you can do that by uninstalling and reinstalling the app direct from the website.

1. Delete the “RingorangDesktop” folder. On Windows, it’s in your Program Files. Mac users should find it in the Applications folder.
2. Sign-in to the browser gamepage at http://qe.ringorang.com
3. Underneath the embedded game device, click “play in the desktop” and then “install now.” The install process should take about a minute and then you’ll have the latest version of the desktop app.

Again, apologies. Obviously, the whole point of the self-updating app was so you don’t have to go through this. We’re looking into it.

I know we say “stay tuned” a lot… but really, stay tuned… developments to be unleashed soon re: the alert…

The primary cause of that is actually the formatting, especially when longer words are involved. We’ll look at all our options for getting rid of the scrollbar, though. Thanks!

Agree we could use some more spice. Thanks for the suggestions! Believe me, we are not short of ideas in this department, but we’ve got one or two more development steps before we start mixing in these elements.
