create a mobile version?
How about creating a mobile app for blackberry and iphone that allows you to play on the go? I spend an hour of my day coming to and from work, which means I miss two questions! If I go out for lunch, I miss another one!
Any chance that could happen? Thanks!
Status: startedThere's a HUGE chance that will happen. Unfortunately, I can't give you a specific timetable for it, but... well, let me just say this: there's a reason the screen's so small within the browser page ;)

Keep getting a "no network" response
On windows XP, I get a "no network" response, with a non-functioning retry button. It just hangs at "processing".
Status: startedUnfortunately, this error is plaguing both the AIR client and the browser. We're tackling the problem. Keep voting this up as long as it keeps happening.

Display the time of/since the last question.
When I boot up my computer, it would be cool to know if I just missed a question, or missed one nearly an hour ago.
Status: plannedThis is a feature idea we love, but we're not sure when we'll integrate it. In the meantime, as redct states in the comment below, you can go the the IRC chat room (irc.chat-solutions.org channel #ringorang) and find out from RingoBot.

Weekend Games?
The game is always over by fri-sunday. What am I to do on the weekends when I actually have time to play?
Status: under reviewOur early, early games told us that most people were playing when they were in front of a computer for extended periods of time i.e. at work, so we're doing that for now. But we definitely want the game going every day of the week (another suggestion was to have a special Sat-Sun round or separate Sat-Sun game altogether). Please stay tuned ;)

keep cumulative, life-time dallions stats
Keep an ongoing tally of my cumulative dallions earned throughout ALL of the Ringorang games for a true leaderboard of ringorangers...
This also would work nicely in for a "double xp weekend" game, or rather a "double-dallion weekend" where a quick sat/sun game is set up, bu... more
Status: plannedWe definitely are going to expand user profiles to include more than merely your name, e-mail, and weekly score. More robust stats and, yes, life-time dallions are next on our (very long) checklist relating to players.
Good idea for the weekend game. Ideally, we do want to be on non-stop, that might be a good in-between step ;)

realize that 3 correct in a row @300 points is imposs...
For someone to be able to select the correct answer three times in a row fast enough to get 300 points plus the bonus, there would have to be either 1) Superman powers involved or 2) some kind of cheating.
Status: under reviewIt may be hard to believe (it was for us at first), but it is possible to achieve 300 scores without cheating. To put it simply, there is an extremely brief period of time wherein you can choose an answer before the dallions begin counting down. The integrity of the game is very important to us, and to our knowledge, no one has been able to see questions before the timer begins, except in cases where the Q has repeated (which we did on purpose for Groundhog's Day as a joke, and accidentally last week). While there has been a sudden burst in 300 scores over the last two weeks, this is a statistical anomaly. We've delivered over 2,600 questions over a span of 25 weeks and still have had only 7 players achieve a 300-dallion score (including one incorrect -300 score), or roughly 0.2%. We do have a lot more players now than we did during week 1, which might partially explain the sudden rise. We will always continue to check and double-check to ensure the game hasn't been compromised.

Determine winners based on # of questions answered
Since a lot of players don't have the benefit of being at their computers all day, why not break play up into divisions based on the number of questions they answer? 10-30, 31-50, and 51+ or something like that, maybe? I'm just wanting a way that people online less during the week have an equal... more
Status: under reviewWe're considering our options as to how we can group or tier players, based on any number of variables. That's certainly one that might work.

Limit number of questions answered per day
Have you thought about implementing some sort of governor on the high scores. I'm thinking you can "keep" up to 10 answers per day. Answer a question and say you score 265 on it... you have 30 seconds to decide whether or not to keep the score. If you say no and only answer 9 other ques... more
Status: under reviewHmmm. That's a wrinkle we haven't considered yet. We'll play with that internally.

Ability to change answer before time is up...
If you've ever played the trivia games in Damon's or other bar&grills... they work similarly to this, you lose points as the time goes down. However, if you miss-click an answer you can click another one before time runs out, but of course at a lower point value.
It'd be great if you could ... more

Have a side bar link so players can see what questions they
Have a side bar to click so players can find out questions they missed or the correct answer to questions they timed out on and didn't play.
Status: under reviewWe're working on a big renovation of the site for the next iteration of the game, and this is one of the first features we'll talk about.

Comment on security issues RoR plug-in opens and fixes
Any interactive platform can open up security issues and may be Browser and OS finicky. Before continuing to use this product, it would be good to know that User security is paramount. Thanks.
Status: under reviewWe have a pretty hefty firewall at our offices here, and the alert hasn't posed any problems for us. We're double-checking, but the alert is designed to use normal http protocols, so in effect it poses no more issues than a standard web browser would.

Add more chance/random bonuses
Based on the results since I've started playing, it looks like there are 4 or 5 people who always wind up in the top 10, if not the first 3. Certainly the most knowledgeable and best players should usually win. However, I think the same people winning week after week may discourage other players ... more
Status: under reviewThanks for the suggestions. Keeping the players not at the top (i.e. MOST of the players) interested is a discussion we have almost daily. We have lots in the works to help address the issue.

Keep user interest through the whole week
Is there away to have random prize questions through the week, maybe with a different alert. I find as the week goes on and realise that my brain/sleep is suffereing. I need extra stimulus to keep me interested. You can give the prize to the quickest or have a series of three questions to defeat ... more
Status: under reviewWe've definitely been brainstorming various types of prizes we can give away (for speed, accuracy %, etc.). A quick series of Qs is an idea we have liked in the past. We're hoping to integrate some slick goodies in the near future.

make the quiz more accessible to people outside the US.
Most of the questions are unanswerable if you live outside the US, and this means you end up having to take an uneducated guess.
Please can we have more international affairs questions, and general knowledge?Status: under reviewApologies for that. We like to keep the game interesting by peppering in current events. Since we're US-based, current events obviously skew more toward us. We're working on organizing questions into general categories (geography, history, etc.) and even having category and topic-specific quizzes, which should counteract the US-centricity some. Thanks for letting us (and me, specifically, as I edit the Qs) know!

Please make the Q window taller. Scrolling is a killer, & it seems like the scrollbar loads last...!
Status: under reviewThe primary cause of that is actually the formatting, especially when longer words are involved. We'll look at all our options for getting rid of the scrollbar, though. Thanks!

toss in some extra elements
I think you would do great if you tossed in some extra elements. Stuff that people could reasonably understand within 30 seconds of the question being asked, but stuff like:
-having only 2 answers in the question
-playing for 600 Dallions on one random question
-surprising them by just giving 30... moreStatus: under reviewAgree we could use some more spice. Thanks for the suggestions! Believe me, we are not short of ideas in this department, but we've got one or two more development steps before we start mixing in these elements.

crank back the difficulty
I really don't like how the questions have been recently some of the most difficult ones I've ever seen out of ringorang. Plain brutal questions that are meant to be answered wrong.
However, it's not fun to be stuck on zero forever, or start clawing out, and then have it dissolved right back, or... more
Status: under reviewThanks for the feedback. We never want to cross the line from challenging into just-plain-frustrating. We'll be a little more mindful.
